YMT Care works alongside people with disability, their families, and support networks using a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) framework as our foundation. We take the time to understand what sits behind a behaviour before deciding how to respond — because context matters, and quick fixes rarely lead to lasting change.
Our practice is trauma‑informed and grounded in respect for each person’s cultural background. Every Behaviour Support Plan we write is tailored to the individual — never a template.
YMT Care is a specialist Behaviour Support service helping people with disability understand their behaviour, build practical skills, and live with greater independence and dignity. Our approach is evidence‑based and genuinely person‑centred, shaped by what works for the individual in front of us.
Good outcomes come from teamwork, not one person working alone. We collaborate closely with participants, families, carers, support workers, support coordinators, and allied health professionals. When a multidisciplinary team is involved, we ensure our input aligns with the broader supports in place so everyone is working toward the same goals.

Of Experience
We rely on established evidence, not guesswork, and we never work in isolation. Behaviour Support Plans are only effective when the people implementing them feel confident and supported, so collaboration is essential. This partnership approach ensures strategies are practical, consistent, and embedded in everyday life.

Clear, honest, and collaborative communication style that makes working together straightforward and effective
Our work is guided by a person centred philosophy, meaning each participant’s goals and preferences shape every plan. We take a trauma informed view of behaviour, recognising that actions often make sense once a person’s history and environment are understood. Cultural background is also central to our practice — support that ignores culture rarely fits well.
